Roy Suryo and Team File Police Report Against Rismon and Wife Over Alleged Document Forgery
Roy Suryo and associates have filed a report with Polda Metro Jaya against Rismon Hasiholan Sianipar and his wife, together with their team, over alleged forgery of the ISBN of the book titled ‘Gibran End Game’. The report was lodged by complainants Subhan Palal and Irwan, according to Roy Suryo’s lawyer Abdul Gafur Sangadji.
“Filed against Rismon and others, including his wife who may be involved as editor of this book, under Section 391 on Forgery of Documents,” Abdul told reporters on Thursday, 21 May. He explained that the report was made because they suspect Rismon, his wife, and their team forged the ISBN for the first edition of the book. The second edition, however, has a valid ISBN.”
“As for the content of the book, that is not being disputed; what is contested is the ISBN of the first edition with ISBN 9786347378040, which is alleged to be forged. When the second edition was printed, the ISBN became 9786347378033 and is registered in Rismon’s name. The first ISBN is registered under someone else’s name; we have checked with the National Library and it can be traced,” he added.
Earlier, Rismon was also reported to Polda Metro Jaya by Irwan Arya, the former Chairman of the Morowali Regency DPRD, in relation to alleged fraud and deceit concerning the book ‘Gibran End Game’. The report was registered under LP/B/2952/IV/2026/SPKT/POLDA METRO JAYA.
“I am reporting Mr. Rismon Sianipar because I feel deceived after buying the book ‘Gibran End Game’. I planned to buy 200 to 300 copies but had only paid for 60,” Irwan told reporters.
Irwan said he bought the book during Car Free Day on Jalan MH Thamrin, Central Jakarta in January 2026, attracted by the material written by Rismon. He intended to purchase 200–300 copies but bought 60 for a total of Rp6,002,500.
Over time, Rismon issued statements essentially retracting what he had written in the book, saying that the contents are false and fake. Based on this, Irwan pursued legal action by reporting Rismon to Polda Metro Jaya under Indonesian Penal Code Articles 492 and/or 486.
Rismon Hasiholan Sianipar had previously been a suspect in a case involving allegations of a counterfeit diploma belonging to Jokowi, the 7th President of Indonesia. He later sought restorative justice (RJ). In that case, out of eight suspects, three sought RJ and were issued SP3 (stoppage of investigation): Rismon Hasiholan Sianipar, Eggi Sudjana, and Damai Hari Lubis. The remaining five suspects’ proceedings continue, including Roy Suryo and others such as Kurnia Triyuni, Rizal Fadilah, Rustam Effendi, and Tifauziah Tiasuma or Dr. Tifa.
