Roy Suryo and Dr Tifa Vow to Continue Fight After Not Being Detained by Prosecutors
Suspects in the alleged defamation and slander case related to the authenticity of 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo’s (Jokowi) diplomas, Roy Suryo and Tifauzia Tyassuma (Dr Tifa), have vowed to continue fighting the case after not being detained by the South Jakarta District Prosecutor’s Office (Kejari Jaksel).
“Yes, we will continue, we will keep fighting. We are not counting on anyone out there,” Roy told reporters at the South Jakarta Prosecutor’s Office on Monday.
Roy mentioned the names of friends and colleagues who had supported him, resulting in him not being detained by the South Jakarta Prosecutor’s Office. He also expressed gratitude to the media and all Indonesian citizens who have monitored this case. Roy pledged to continue fighting to uphold justice.
“And I just want to offer praise and gratitude to God Almighty, Allah SWT, that our struggle is not over. As of today, we will continue to fight to uphold the existing truth,” he said.
Similarly, Dr Tifa expressed her belief that one should never be afraid to speak the truth in Indonesia. “We support goodness for this country with all the knowledge we possess. Never be afraid to speak the truth,” she stated.
The South Jakarta District Prosecutor’s Office did not detain the suspects in the alleged defamation and slander case concerning the authenticity of former President Joko Widodo’s diplomas, Roy Suryo and Tifauzia Tyassuma (Dr Tifa).
Previously, Roy Suryo and Tifauzia Tyassuma, or Dr Tifa, underwent a medical examination at the Kramat Jati Police Hospital in East Jakarta on Friday, 19 June, at approximately 5:55 PM Western Indonesian Time. They arrived under tight escort from the Metro Jakarta Regional Police and were immediately taken to the Emergency Department.
Overall, the condition of Roy Suryo and Dr Tifa was found to be good. However, the examination revealed underlying medical conditions that required further medical attention. The medical team assessed that the condition of both individuals did not allow them to resume activities immediately without medical supervision. Therefore, the doctors recommended that both undergo inpatient care to ensure their health remained stable.
