Roy Suryo and Dr Tifa Arrive at South Jakarta Prosecutor's Office in Orange Prisoner Vests
Jakarta - Suspects in the alleged defamation and character assassination case concerning the authenticity of the diploma of the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo (Jokowi), Roy Suryo and Tifauzia Tyassuma (Dr Tifa), arrived at the South Jakarta District Prosecutor’s Office (Kejari Jaksel) wearing orange prisoner vests on Monday.
“Allahuakbar,” said Roy Suryo, raising his fist and facing the media crew at the South Jakarta Kejari Office on Monday. Roy appeared to be wearing a long-sleeved batik shirt with an orange detainee vest over it, his hands bound with red cable ties.
Meanwhile, Dr Tifa also recited a dhikr whilst wearing the detainee vest, with her hands similarly bound by cable ties. “Hasbunallah wa ni’mal wakil,” Tifa said.
Both were escorted by police officers as they entered the South Jakarta Kejari Office. In addition, the police also brought a suitcase as evidence. They arrived under tight guard from Polda Metro Jaya and were immediately taken to the Emergency Room (IGD).
In general, the condition of Roy Suryo and Dr Tifa was found to be good. However, during the examination, pre-existing medical conditions were discovered that required further medical attention. The medical team assessed that the health condition of both individuals did not allow them to immediately resume activities without medical supervision.
Therefore, the doctors recommended that both undergo inpatient care to ensure their health condition remains stable.
Previously, information circulated from the Advocacy Team Against the Criminalisation of Academics & Activists (TA-AKAA) stating that on Friday (19/6) at around 07.00 WIB, Roy Suryo Notodiprojo was reported by his wife to have been arrested by Polda Metro Jaya investigators. Meanwhile, the Dr Tifa Defence Team (TPDT) explained that Dr Tifa had been arrested by police officers at her apartment on Friday (19/6) morning at around 06.47 WIB.
