Roy Suryo and Doctor Tifa to Be Transferred to Polda Metro Jaya Detention Centre Tonight

Suspects in the alleged defamation and slander case concerning the authenticity of the diploma of Indonesia’s 7th President, Joko Widodo, Roy Suryo and Tifauzia Tyassuma, also known as Doctor Tifa, are scheduled to be transferred from the National Police Hospital in Kramat Jati to the Polda Metro Jaya Detention Centre. Head of Public Relations for Polda Metro Jaya, Commissioner Budi Hermanto, revealed that the transfer process for both suspects will take place on Sunday evening. “The latest update is that suspects Tifauzia Tyassuma and Roy Suryo will be taken from the Kramat Jati Hospital tonight and held overnight at the Polda Metro Jaya Detention Centre,” said Commissioner Budi Hermanto in a statement in Jakarta on Sunday. According to Budi, the transfer is part of the preparations for the second stage of handover, which involves the transfer of the suspects and evidence to the South Jakarta District Prosecutor’s Office, scheduled for Monday. “Tomorrow at 9.00 a.m. Western Indonesian Time, they will depart together from Polda Metro Jaya to the South Jakarta Prosecutor’s Office for stage two,” he said. Budi added that investigators are currently coordinating with the hospital regarding the transfer process for Roy Suryo and Doctor Tifa to the Polda Metro Jaya Detention Centre. Previously, Roy Suryo and Doctor Tifa underwent inpatient treatment at the National Police Hospital in Kramat Jati following a medical examination on Friday evening. Their legal counsel, Refly Harun, explained that the decision for hospitalisation was made based on the medical team’s recommendation, not at the personal request of his clients. “Both Doctor Tifa and Mr Roy Suryo, upon the doctor’s recommendation and not at their own request, were admitted for inpatient care,” said Refly Harun in Jakarta. Refly stated that the general health condition of Roy Suryo and Doctor Tifa is good. However, the medical examination results found pre-existing conditions that require further monitoring and treatment from healthcare professionals. “These two individuals are actually in good condition. But they have pre-existing conditions that were discovered during the examination process,” said Refly. He added that, based on the medical team’s assessment, the health condition of both suspects still requires medical supervision, so they have not yet been recommended to return to normal activities immediately.
