Roy Suryo and Doctor Tifa Arrive at South Jakarta Prosecutor's Office: Allahu Akbar!

Suspects in the case of alleged false diploma claims against Indonesia’s 7th President Joko Widodo, Roy Suryo and Tifauziah Tyassuma, arrived at the South Jakarta District Prosecutor’s Office for the second stage of transfer on Monday (22/6). CNNIndonesia.com observed both arriving at the prosecutor’s office at around 09.43 Western Indonesian Time. Roy was seen wearing a batik shirt and a detainee uniform, while Tifa wore a black and grey shirt with a detainee uniform. Both emerged from the detainee vehicle with red cable ties binding their hands and were immediately escorted by officers into the building. ‘Hasbunallah wani’mal wakil,’ Tifa said moments after exiting the detainee vehicle. Meanwhile, Roy shouted ‘Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar’ as he was led into the South Jakarta Prosecutor’s Office building. The Metro Jaya Regional Police arrested Roy Suryo and Tifa on Friday (19/6) last week. The Director of General Criminal Investigation at Metro Jaya Police, Senior Commissioner Iman Imanuddin, explained that the arrests were part of the process of handing over the suspects and evidence from investigators to the DKI Jakarta High Prosecutor’s Office. This step was taken after the case file was declared complete, or P-21, by the prosecution. ‘Furthermore, to ensure the presence and availability of the suspects during this transfer process runs smoothly, investigators must confirm the whereabouts and attendance of the suspects,’ Iman said. Following their arrest, Roy and Tifa were taken to the Kramat Jati Police Hospital for a health examination. The medical results recommended that both undergo inpatient care to ensure their health conditions remained stable.
