Jakarta, CNN Indonesia – The Roy Suryo camp is requesting that the investigation into the allegations of a fake diploma against Indonesia’s seventh president, Joko Widodo, be dropped and a Cessation of Investigation Order (SP3) be issued. The request was conveyed by Roy’s camp through a letter addressed to the National Police Inspector General of Oversight, Comr. Gen. Wahyu Widada.

Roy’s legal counsel, Refly Harun, said the request was filed following statements made by former Deputy National Police Chief Comr. Gen. (Ret.) Oegroseno, whom they presented as an expert witness.

“He said that with the withdrawal of the police report against Eggi Sudjana and especially Damai Hari Lubis, the entire bundled report should be invalidated entirely. Because this is under one police report, one case number. So if one is withdrawn, all should be withdrawn,” Refly said at Jakarta Metropolitan Police headquarters on Friday (2/13).

Refly then read out the letter addressed to the Inspector General. In the letter, Roy’s camp also stated that since Eggi and Damai were given SP3s, the other suspects should receive the same treatment.

“What we want to say is that with the issuance of the SP3 for Eggi Sudjana and Damai Hari Lubis, it must have started with the withdrawal of the police report against both of them. But the report is one bundle, one case number. So if the report is withdrawn, then automatically all should be invalidated,” Refly said while reading the letter.

“Unless, as Comr. Gen. Oegroseno, the former Deputy Police Chief, said, the withdrawal is due to death. In this case, Eggi Sudjana and Damai Hari Lubis did not die, so when the report against them was withdrawn, the other six should also be invalidated,” he continued.

On the same occasion, Roy said he would not pursue Restorative Justice (RJ) despite requesting that the investigation into his case be dropped. “No, I won’t file for RJ. That’s impossible,” he said.

Previously, former Deputy National Police Chief Comr. Gen. (Ret.) Oegroseno raised the issue of the SP3 issuance for Eggi Sudjana and Damai Hari Lubis in the Jokowi fake diploma allegations case. Oegroseno made the remarks after completing his testimony as an expert witness for suspects Roy Suryo, Rismon Hasiholan Sianipar, and Dr. Tifauziah Tyassuma, commonly referred to as the RRT trio.

According to Oegroseno, the SP3 should not have been issued only to Eggi and Damai, but to all suspects in the case, including RRT.

“Eggi Sudjana and Damai Hari Lubis — explicitly and implicitly, because they were reported along with eight people — the cessation of investigation should also be granted to everyone reported by Mr. Jokowi and associates. So you cannot single out two people for SP3 and leave the others out,” he said at Jakarta Metropolitan Police headquarters on Thursday (2/12).

The Jakarta Metropolitan Police named Roy Suryo and seven others as suspects in the Jokowi fake diploma allegations case. The eight suspects are divided into two clusters. The first cluster consists of five suspects: Eggi Sudjana, Kurnia Tri Rohyani, Damai Hari Lubis, Rustam Effendi, and Muhammad Rizal Fadillah. The second cluster consists of three suspects: Roy Suryo, Rismon Hasiholan Sianipar, and Tifauziah Tyassuma, alias Dr. Tifa.

Most recently, the Jakarta Metropolitan Police dropped the investigation against Eggi Sudjana and Damai Hari Lubis in this case, with SP3s having been issued. Meanwhile, legal proceedings for the remaining six suspects are still ongoing. Investigators also submitted the case files of suspects Roy, Rismon, and Dr. Tifa to prosecutors on January 13, 2026. However, the prosecution returned the files, deeming them incomplete. As a follow-up, police re-examined several witnesses in Central Java and Yogyakarta on Wednesday (2/11). One of them was Jokowi as the complainant, who was examined at the Surakarta Police Headquarters in Solo, Central Java.
