Roy Suryo Addresses Rismon's Restorative Justice Application, References 99.9 Per Cent Certainty
Controversy surrounding allegations of forged credentials for Indonesia’s seventh President Joko Widodo has intensified anew. Roy Suryo, former Minister of Youth and Sports, has affirmed his steadfast position and stated he will not retreat from the accusation.
This statement was made by Roy in response to the measures taken by digital forensics expert Rismon Hasiholan Sianipar, who has filed an application for restorative justice in the same case.
Roy even described his conviction regarding the allegations of Jokowi’s forged credentials as nearly absolute. He firmly asserted that he would not alter his position in the slightest.
“We have said we will not retreat even 0.1 per cent. Why 0.1 per cent? That is the remainder from 99.9 per cent. So, we will not retreat,” he said at Metro Jaya Police Headquarters on Thursday, 12 March 2026.
Nevertheless, Roy acknowledged that he did not object to the steps taken by Rismon. Rather, he chose to pray that his colleague would receive guidance.
“I pray that my friend Rismon Hasiholan Sianipar will be given wisdom by Allah the Almighty. Given enlightenment. Given the very best for him, and protection as well,” said Roy.
Regarding the possibility that he too might pursue the restorative justice route as Rismon has done, Roy has not yet provided certainty. He stated that he would first need to consult with his legal team.
“To be honest, I must seek advice from my legal counsel. But sometimes in card games, a Jack loses to a Queen, loses to a King, but the Ace always wins. I will follow whatever advice my legal team provides,” said Roy.
Previously, it was reported that digital forensics expert Rismon Hasiholan Sianipar had filed an application for restorative justice regarding allegations of forged credentials of Indonesia’s seventh President Joko Widodo.
This was confirmed by the Director of General Criminal Investigation at Metro Jaya Police, Senior Police Commissioner Iman Imanuddin. He stated that the restorative justice application letter was submitted the previous week.
“Last week he submitted an application for restorative justice,” said Iman on Wednesday, 11 March 2026.
Iman added that the applicant visited Metro Jaya Police Headquarters today with his legal counsel. This was in order to inquire about the progress of the restorative justice application he had filed. Similar measures have previously been undertaken by two other suspects in this case, namely Eggi Sudjana and Damai Hari Lubis.
