Roxy overpass to be built

JAKARTA: The Jakarta Transportation Agency has advised
motorists to avoid Jl. Hasyim Ashari in Central Jakarta starting
on Saturday since the traffic along the road will be obstructed
following the beginning of the construction of Roxy overpass.

"The construction of the overpass will narrow the road. We
will reroute traffic, but we expect motorists to avoid the road
from the time being," the agency's head Rustam Effendy Sidabutar
told in a statement released to the media on Friday.

Motorists are advised to follow traffic signs and officers on
duty around the location.

He said that the construction of the Roxy overpass was part of
the development of infrastructure for the new busway project.

The third busway corridor linking Harmoni in Central Jakarta
and Kalideres in West Jakarta will pass the road.

The busway will pass Jl. Suryo Pranoto while the Roxy overpass
is under construction. --JP.
