Routine Patrols Intensified During Ramadan to Prevent Brawls
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Joint security personnel have intensified routine patrols to prevent brawls and other criminal activity during Ramadan 1447 Hijriah in East Jakarta, including in the Cakung sub-district.
"The Anti-Brawl Task Force carries out daily area monitoring from 4pm to 8am," said Cakung Sub-district Head Rohmad in Jakarta on Wednesday.
The heightened area surveillance also serves as an effort to prevent brawls, street robberies and other criminal acts within the community.
Over the past week, his office has been vigorously conducting routine patrols together with the three-pillar elements. Additionally, integrated security posts spread across each urban village continue to be activated to monitor the situation in each area.
The task force involves personnel from the Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP), Community Protection (Linmas), village military and police liaison officers (Babinsa/Bhabinkamtibmas), neighbourhood heads (RT/RW), the Community Security Awareness Forum (FKDM) and other related elements.
Each day, he said, approximately 15 to 20 joint personnel are on duty at each integrated post.
Rohmad urged the public to work together in maintaining neighbourhood security, particularly during Ramadan and beyond, so that brawl incidents no longer occur in his area.
"Let us together maintain a conducive atmosphere during Ramadan and engage in positive activities," he said.
Rohmad confirmed that over the past month there have been no brawl incidents in the Penggilingan area or other parts of Cakung sub-district.
"Currently there are two integrated posts, one within the PIK Penggilingan area and one in front of the Eramas 2000 Housing Complex, RW 08, Pulo Gebang," Rohmad affirmed.
The East Jakarta Metropolitan Police have established 27 integrated posts spread across the area as part of Operasi Pekat (Social Disease Operation) Jaya, aimed simultaneously at preventing brawls ahead of Ramadan.
Operasi Pekat Jaya 2026 is part of centralised instructions from the Jakarta Metropolitan Police (Polda Metro Jaya), implemented simultaneously across the Polda Metro Jaya jurisdiction, including East Jakarta.
These posts involve various elements, from the police, the East Jakarta Municipal Government, the military and police (TNI/Polri), Military District Command (Kodim) 0505, through to community members.
Each integrated post is manned by 20 personnel on standby. Of these, 10 are from the police, drawn from both the East Jakarta Metropolitan Police and Polda Metro Jaya.
The remaining 10 personnel comprise members of the Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP), Kodim 0505 East Jakarta, and community elements near each post location.
The integrated posts operate based on vulnerability analysis. Posts are active from 4pm Western Indonesian Time (WIB) until 8am the following day, a period assessed as being prone to security disturbances.
