Route to Purwomartani Toll Gate via Rice Fields Now Removed from Google Maps
A number of holidaymakers have strayed into residential areas and rice fields in Tirtomartani Village, Kalasan, while trying to reach the Purwomartani Toll Gate by following Google Maps directions. The toll road operator stated that the route has now been removed from the navigation app.
“Information from our field colleagues indicates that the route to the Purwomartani Toll Gate (through the rice field area) has been deleted from Google Maps,” said Public Relations Officer of PT Jasamarga Jogja Solo, Rachmat Jasiman, to reporters, as reported by detikJogja on Wednesday (25/3/2026).
To direct drivers intending to enter the Purwomartani Toll Gate, the company has added signage. Additionally, personnel have been deployed to assist in guiding motorists.
“In the meantime, our field teams are on standby, and we have installed signs that will direct to the toll gate,” he said.
He emphasised that road users heading to the toll entrance should take the arterial route via the Jogja-Solo Road. The hope is to prevent any more drivers from getting lost through roads in residential and rice field areas.
“Yes, that’s correct. Only accessible from the Jogja-Solo route,” he stressed.
Previously, several holidaymakers heading to the Purwomartani Toll Gate passed through village roads and rice fields in Tirtomartani Village, Kalasan. They followed the route displayed on Google Maps.
Observations by detikJogja showed that vehicles heading to the Purwomartani Toll Gate via the rice fields were mostly out-of-town private cars. Some drivers appeared confused about the direction to the toll gate.
