Roundup: Prabowo reshuffles top officials at National Nutrition Agency
President Prabowo Subianto officially removed Dadan Hindayana from his position as the Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) on Tuesday night, appointing Nanik Sudaryati Deyang as his successor. In the same decision, the President also removed Lodewyk Pusung and Sony Sanjaya from their roles as Deputy Heads of the BGN, appointing Agustina Arumsari and Major General TNI Trenggono as the new Deputy Heads.
The announcement regarding the removal of the three BGN officials and the appointment of the new leadership was delivered directly by the Minister of State Secretary, Prasetyo Hadi, during a press conference at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Tuesday night. The Minister was accompanied by the Cabinet Secretary, Teddy Indra Wijaya, and the Head of the Government Communication Agency, Muhammad Qodari.
“For approximately 1.5 years, the President has conducted monitoring and evaluation. Therefore, on Tuesday, 2 June 2026, the President has decided to change the leadership of the National Nutrition Agency,” stated Prasetyo Hadi. He added that the changes were accompanied by expressions of gratitude for the hard work and dedication of the outgoing officials in building the foundation of the agency.
Prasetyo Hadi announced the new BGN leadership roster, which includes Nanik S. Deyang as the new Head, alongside Agustina Arumsari and Major General TNI Trenggono as the new Deputy Heads. He expressed hope that the new leadership would immediately undertake internal consolidation, strengthen cross-ministerial coordination, and enhance cooperation with provincial and district governments to ensure all BGN programmes continue effectively.
Regarding the reasons for the reshuffle, Prasetyo Hadi explained that the President’s evaluation highlighted issues concerning Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and discipline. Specifically, concerns were raised regarding discipline in implementing SOPs, governance, and maintaining the quality of food standards set by the agency. Furthermore, regarding allegations of bribery involving kitchen points for the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) programme, the Minister emphasised that these matters are currently undergoing internal audits.
Despite the leadership changes, the Minister emphasised that all BGN programmes, particularly the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) initiative, will continue without interruption. He stated that the government remains committed to the programme as a vital investment in education and human resources, and as a potential driver for the national economy.
