Round-the-clock electricity
DILI, East Timor: Three more regencies have enjoyed round-the- clock electricity since January.
Heri Siswanto, head of the Dili branch of the state electricity company PLN, said that Ermera, Maliana and Baucau are now getting electricity 24 hours a day, instead of the previously 12 hours a day.
Heri said the decision was made in view of the rising demand for power, either from households or industrial users, in the three regencies, Antara reported.
This brings the number of regencies provided with round-the- clock electricity to five out of 13 regencies in the province. The first two to receive the facility were Dili and Liquisa. (emb)
