Rotten rice sent to Fakfak

FAKFAK, Irian Jaya: The provincial office of the State
Logistics Agency (Dolog) here will sue the shipping company which
transported rice to the regency after 200 metric tons of 500 tons
were discovered to be spoiled.

The head of the Dolog agency here Supratman said the rice was
inedible because it was contaminated by water leaking into the
ship.

Supratman said rice stocks of 2,330 tons were enough to last
area residents for almost six months, and another 1,500 tons were
expected to arrive next month next month. Dolog's local price is
Rp 2,100 per kilogram.
