Rossi has checkup after crash

PESARO, Italy (Reuter): New 125cc world champion Valentino
Rossi, slightly hurt in a car crash on the weekend, faced medical
checks yesterday to see whether he was fit to race in the
Indonesian Grand Prix on Sunday.

The accident happened after a celebration in Tavullia, Italy,
held in Rossi's honor Saturday night when a car driven by the
father of a teammate hit a lamppost.

Rossi was taken to hospital but doctors said he had only very
slight head injuries.
