Beijing (ANTARA) - Russia’s state nuclear company Rosatom will sign three memoranda of understanding on cooperation during President Vladimir Putin’s visit to China, including on thermonuclear research, CEO Alexey Likhachev said on Tuesday.

Putin is making an official visit to China on Tuesday and Wednesday (20 May) at the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping.

On Monday (18 May), Russian presidential aide Yury Ushakov said the delegation on the Russian visit was highly representative, including five deputy prime ministers, eight ministers, the head of the central bank, the head of state-owned companies, and regional heads.

‘Three memorandums have been prepared for signature during Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin’s visit,’ Likhachev told reporters.

The understandings include development of human resources for nuclear energy, and Rosatom is ready to share its experience.

‘We have signed an agreement with the Department of Science and Technology on work in the field of thermonuclear energy and thermonuclear research,’ Likhachev said.

The CEO added that China is showing increasing interest in cooperation on the Northern Sea Route each month.
