Rosan Visits Bahlil's Office: What Was Discussed?
The Minister of Investment and Downstreaming/Head of BKPM, Rosan Roeslani, was reported to have visited the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) on Wednesday (23/09/2026). Rosan’s visit was intended to attend a meeting with the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Bahlil Lahadalia.
ESDM Ministry Spokesperson Dwi Anggia confirmed the meeting took place. However, she was unable to provide specific details regarding the agenda or the key points discussed during the session between Rosan and Bahlil.
“The meeting has concluded,” Dwi briefly told CNBC Indonesia when asked about the meeting on Wednesday (23/09/2026).
As previously reported, President Prabowo Subianto recently instructed the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Bahlil Lahadalia, to formulate development steps for 50% bioethanol-blended fuel (E50). This follows the successful implementation of the B50 biodiesel programme.
Bahlil stated that the government has been asked to study the success of B50 and apply a similar approach to the formulation of the E50 programme. This directive was delivered by Prabowo during the Plenary Session of the National Energy Council (DEN) at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, on Thursday (17/09/2026).
“We have also decided that for the long term, we will study the success of B50. Learning from this, the President has ordered us to immediately prepare similar steps to build E50,” Bahlil said following the DEN session, as reported via the official Instagram account of the Ministry of ESDM on Wednesday (23/09/2026).
According to him, the development of E50 is one of the steps to encourage the availability of domestic fuel, aligning with the high national consumption of fuel.
Bahlil noted that national diesel consumption reaches approximately 39 million kilolitres (KL) per year, while petrol consumption ranges between 39 million and 40 million KL per year.
“We know our fuel consumption; diesel is 39 million KL per year and petrol is nearly 39-40 million. This is a form of encouraging domestic fuel availability,” said Bahlil.
