Rosan says DSI builds strong verification of export data flows

Jakarta (ANTARA) - Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Danantara Indonesia Rosan Roeslani has stated that the establishment of PT Danantara Sumberdaya Indonesia (DSI) is aimed at strengthening national export governance through a more integrated, transparent and credible verification system for data flows and transactions.

Rosan emphasised that DSI was not formed to add layers of bureaucracy or to take over the authority of regulators.

“DSI’s purpose is not to add layers of bureaucracy nor to replace the role of regulators. This must be underlined: all licensing, regulatory and supervisory functions remain with the authorised ministries or agencies,” said Rosan, who also serves as Minister of Investment and Downstreaming/Head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM), at the launch of a New Chapter in Natural Resource Export Governance held in Jakarta on Monday.

According to him, DSI’s main role is to build a stronger single verification point for export data flows and transactions. The system will cover verification of quantity, quality, goods classification, price, payment settlement, and foreign exchange repatriation.

For Danantara Indonesia, Rosan said, managing strategic assets cannot be solely oriented towards increasing transaction volume. Every export activity must have a reasonable basis, be traceable, and provide maximum benefit for the national economy.

“DSI’s role is to build a stronger single verification point for export data flows and transactions, covering quality, goods classification, price, payment settlement, and foreign exchange repatriation,” he added.

He noted that DSI’s implementation will be carried out gradually, measurably, and adjusted to the readiness level of all stakeholders so as not to disrupt trade flows or existing commercial relationships.

In addition, DSI is expected to provide business certainty through a professional and efficient process for exporters, buyers, banks and other related institutions.

Furthermore, Rosan said the successful implementation of DSI cannot be achieved independently. He therefore expressed appreciation to all ministries and agencies that have provided support and data access, enabling the information integration process to proceed smoothly.

According to him, this data integration will produce more accurate and transparent decision-making processes and support the formulation of more effective policies.
