Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Danantara Indonesia, Rosan Roeslani, confirmed that Luke Thomas Mahony has been appointed to serve as President Director of PT Danantara Sumber Daya Indonesia (DSI), the government-created entity established to manage the export of several commodities.

‘For now, it is Luke Thomas,’ Rosan said after meeting President Prabowo Subianto at the Presidential Palace complex in Jakarta on Thursday, 21 May 2026, as reported by Antara.

Luke Thomas Mahony is an Australian citizen who previously served as Director of PT Vale Indonesia.

When asked for further details about when an official announcement of the directors would be made, Rosan, who is also the Minister of Investment and Hilirisasi (Investment and Downstream Activities), said the process is currently strengthening the team that will lead PT DSI. The announcement will be made once all directors have been determined.

‘One can look at his track record; his capabilities are clear, just as we formed Danantara earlier,’ he said.

Regarding the formation of PT DSI itself, he said the government is listening to feedback and conducting socialisations with associations of palm oil commodity entrepreneurs and iron alloy related to the formation.

‘Today’s meeting, we want to hear input first. Later this afternoon, representatives from all associations, Kadin, Apindo, palm oil associations, APBI, coal, all of them. We are also socialising at the same time, so we will start at 4 pm,’ Rosan said.

Earlier, President Prabowo Subianto, in a plenary session of the DPR at the Nusantara Building in the MPR, DPR, and DPD complex in Jakarta, said the government has issued a Government Regulation on the Governance of Exports of Natural Resource Commodities (SDA).

Prabowo said the regulation makes BUMN the sole exporter for the commodities of palm oil, coal, and ferro alloy.

‘The sale of all our natural resource outputs, we start with palm oil, coal, and ferro alloy; we require that it must be sold through a BUMN designated by the Government of the Republic of Indonesia as the sole exporter,’ Prabowo said.
