Rosan Roeslani Meets President Prabowo to Discuss Danantara's Role in SOE Transformation
President Prabowo Subianto received Minister of Investment and Downstreaming, who also serves as CEO of Danantara, Rosan Roeslani, at his private residence in Kertanegara, Jakarta, on Sunday (21/6). The meeting focused on optimising the management of state assets through Danantara Indonesia to deliver direct benefits to the public.
Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya revealed that the agenda centred on accelerating the transformation of State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) and strengthening new economic sectors. “The meeting discussed accelerating the transformation of SOEs and strengthening new sectors that drive national economic growth,” he stated in Jakarta.
One crucial report received by the President concerned the progress of restructuring state-owned companies. Teddy noted that out of a total of approximately 1,077 existing SOE entities, 258 have been successfully consolidated. The government is now targeting around 300 more entities to enter the next phase of consolidation. This measure aims to boost efficiency and reduce the cost burden previously borne by the state.
Beyond restructuring, Danantara is projected to become a new economic engine, particularly in the tourism and creative industry sectors. This includes hosting international-scale sporting events, music concerts, and developing the broader creative ecosystem. These sectors are considered to have significant potential to attract foreign investment and create extensive employment opportunities. With more optimal asset management under Danantara, the government is optimistic that national economic turnover will progress more dynamically.
