Rosan Roeslani Explores Solar Energy Collaboration in China
Minister of Investment and Downstreaming/Head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) Rosan Roeslani inspected the production facilities of Longi Green Energy Technology in China on Wednesday (15/4/2026) to accelerate the development of the national solar energy industry. This working visit aims to strengthen Indonesia’s position in the global renewable energy ecosystem supply chain.
Rosan’s arrival was directly welcomed by Chairman of Longi Green Energy Technology, Baoshen Zhong, at the centre of that giant solar energy facility. According to Detik Finance, this agenda is part of the government’s strategy to drive energy transformation through international technology collaboration.
“Strengthening the solar energy industry is one of the focuses in the visit to the LONGI Green Energy Technology facilities in China, in line with efforts to promote the development of new renewable energy in Indonesia,” said Rosan Roeslani, Minister of Investment and Downstreaming/Head of BKPM.
Rosan, who also serves as CEO of the Danantara Investment Management Agency, emphasised that the integration of photovoltaic technology is crucial for Indonesia. This is expected to increase domestic manufacturing capacity and support more efficient supply chain integration.
This economic diplomacy step is projected to open broad collaboration opportunities, from technology research and development to downstream industry implementation. The main focus is to ensure Indonesia has independent and highly competitive clean energy infrastructure.
The Indonesian government is currently aggressively promoting downstreaming policies in various strategic sectors, including energy. The photovoltaic sector is seen to have great potential to support carbon emission zero targets and meet national energy needs in the future.
