Rosan Roeslani, CEO of Danantara Indonesia and, concurrently, the Minister of Investment and Downstreaming, has confirmed the appointment of Luke Thomas Mahony as Chief Executive Officer of PT Danantara Sumber Daya Indonesia (DSI) at the Presidential Palace Complex on Thursday, 21 May 2026. The appointment is intended to strengthen the new government body tasked with managing the exports of several national strategic commodities.

Rosan emphasised that Luke Thomas’s selection was based on his track record and proven capabilities in the industrial sector. Luke Thomas Mahony is an Australian national who previously served as a Director at PT Vale Indonesia.

“For now, Luke Thomas. You can see his track record; his capabilities are clear, just as we set up Danantara earlier,” Rosan said after meeting President Prabowo Subianto on Thursday, 21 May.

Currently, the government is still strengthening the team that will fill the PT DSI board of directors. A comprehensive official announcement will be made once all leadership appointments have been determined. In addition to internal strengthening, Danantara is actively conducting outreach and seeking input from various business associations.

“The meeting took place earlier; we want to listen to the input. This afternoon, representatives from all associations—Kadin, Apindo, the palm oil association, APBI, coal, and others—will also participate. We are also conducting outreach,” added Rosan.

The creation of PT DSI is a follow-up to the Government Regulation (PP) on the Governance of Exports of Natural Resource Commodities announced by President Prabowo Subianto on Wednesday, 20 May. Under the regulation, the sale of commodities such as palm oil (CPO), coal, and ferro alloys is to be conducted through a designated state-owned enterprise as the sole exporter.

Rosan Roeslani, CEO of Danantara Indonesia, explained the reasons for the appointment of Luke Thomas Mahony as PT DSI’s CEO, citing the need to strengthen the team and his professional track record.
