Rosan Reveals Indonesia Remains a Favourite Among Foreign Investors - RMOL

Amid geopolitical pressures and global economic dynamics, Indonesia continues to demonstrate strong appeal to foreign investors.

This was revealed by the Minister of Investment and Downstreaming/Head of BKPM Rosan Perkasa Roeslani after meeting President Prabowo Subianto at the State Palace in Jakarta on Tuesday, 21 April 2026.

In the meeting, Rosan reported on the progress of national investment realisation in the first quarter of 2026, while outlining the trend of strong foreign investor interest despite the world being shrouded in uncertainty due to conflicts and global economic dynamics.

“Regardless of the current situation, the war, global geopolitics, and global geo-economics, their interest and enthusiasm to invest in Indonesia remains very high and very good,” said Rosan.

According to him, this optimism is reflected in a series of working visits and meetings with global business players in several major countries, such as Singapore, China, South Korea, and Japan.

In various forums, both large gatherings and limited discussions with the President, Indonesia is still regarded as a favourite among investors.

Furthermore, Rosan disclosed that several secured investment commitments show significant figures.

From Japan, the recorded investment potential is approaching $30 billion, while from South Korea it reaches around $10 billion. Meanwhile, investments from China are said to remain high and consistent in recent years.

This positive trend, Rosan continued, aligns with the national investment target set to increase significantly over the next five years.

The government targets a total investment realisation for the 2025-2029 period to exceed Rp13,000 trillion, up from an achievement of around Rp9,100 trillion in the 2014-2024 period.

“The increase is indeed quite significant, but alhamdulillah, those targets can still be achieved. We hope this can continue to be maintained,” he added.
