Rosan Reveals 9.29 Million Households Still Without Homes

Danantara Indonesia CEO Rosan Perkasa Roeslani has revealed that approximately 9.29 million households across the country do not yet own a home. The data indicates that the public’s need for housing remains very substantial and must be met swiftly.

Rosan presented the figures while opening the Danantara Housing Expo 2026. He referred to data from Statistics Indonesia (BPS) for March 2024. BPS also recorded that around 18 million households still live in dwellings that do not meet adequate standards.

“As we saw earlier, based on BPS data from March 2024, there are still around 9.29 million households that do not own a home and 18 million households that still live in dwellings that do not meet adequate standards,” said the figure who also serves as Minister of Investment/Head of BKPM, in Jakarta, Thursday (27/8/2026).

According to Rosan, this situation makes the need for housing a top priority. Danantara will work together with the Ministry of Housing and Residential Areas (PKP) to accelerate the fulfilment of housing needs while ensuring that available dwellings meet decent living standards.

The Danantara Housing Expo 2026 serves as a manifestation of support from Danantara and the entire state-owned enterprise ecosystem for the three million homes programme, a priority programme of the President. Through the exhibition, Danantara seeks to provide a supply of housing at affordable prices, competitive financing, and easier access for the public, particularly the lower-middle segment.
