Rosan Requests Additional Rp578 Billion Budget for Investment Ministry from DPR

Minister of Investment and Downstreaming/Head of BKPM Rosan P. Roeslani has proposed a budget increase for the 2027 fiscal year to support the ministry’s work programmes. The request was made during a working meeting with Commission XII of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) in Jakarta on Monday (15/6/2026).

Rosan initially outlined that his ministry had proposed a budget of Rp2.19 trillion for the coming year to meet the government’s targets under the leadership of President Prabowo Subianto. According to the government’s 2027 work plan draft, the Ministry of Investment and Downstreaming is tasked with achieving a combined foreign and domestic investment realisation of Rp2,322 trillion, which is 13.8 percent higher than the 2026 target of Rp2,041.3 trillion.

However, the indicative budget ceiling approved for the ministry in 2027 was only Rp625.14 billion. Rosan stated that this amount only covers 52 percent of the ministry’s needs, which require a minimum of Rp1.2 trillion. Consequently, he requested an additional budget of Rp578.93 billion from the DPR, specifically Commission XII, to meet the minimum operational requirement. The proposed additional funds would be allocated with Rp579.95 billion for management support programmes and Rp624.12 billion for investment and downstreaming programmes.

Rosan also detailed the ministry’s strategic priorities for 2027, which focus on strengthening the investment ecosystem, promoting business growth, and supporting equitable job distribution and national innovation. A key strategic programme includes the development of an Online Single Submission (OSS) system based on Artificial Intelligence, Big Data, and Blockchain to improve accuracy, transparency, and reliability, as well as expanding the integration of District/City Detailed Spatial Plans (RDTR) into the OSS system.
