Rosan Reports to Prabowo: 258 State-Owned Enterprises 'Trimmed', 300 More to Follow
Jakarta - President Prabowo Subianto received Minister of Investment and Downstreaming/Head of the Danantara Investment Management Agency, Rosan Roeslani, at his private residence in Kertanegara, Jakarta, on Sunday (21/6/2026). Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya outlined two key topics discussed during the meeting.
Firstly, the discussion focused on optimising the management of state assets to drive new economic development. This includes strengthening the tourism sector by integrating it with the organisation of various national and international-scale events.
‘New economic growth opportunities that can be driven by Danantara include strengthening the tourism sector through sports events, music concerts, and the creative industry, which can create jobs, attract investment, and boost national economic turnover,’ Teddy stated, quoting an official release on Monday (22/6/2026).
In addition to developing new economic sectors, the meeting also addressed the ongoing process of consolidating and transforming state-owned enterprises (SOEs). This step is considered crucial for improving efficiency and strengthening the governance of state companies.
According to Teddy, out of a total of approximately 1,077 SOE entities, 258 have been successfully consolidated. ‘The consolidation and transformation process of SOEs is ongoing. Out of a total of around 1,077 SOE entities, 258 have been successfully consolidated, with a target of around 300 more entities to follow in the near future. This measure is expected to improve efficiency, strengthen governance, and reduce the cost burden borne by the state,’ he said.
It was explained that the transformation of SOEs and the optimisation of state assets are part of President Prabowo’s broader agenda to turn the nation’s wealth into an engine for sustainable economic growth, enhance Indonesia’s competitiveness, and ensure that every state asset provides maximum added value for the prosperity of the people.
