Chief Executive Officer of the Daya Anagata Nusantara Investment Management Agency (BPI Danantara), Rosan Roeslani, has stated that Danantara is interested in becoming a shareholder of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) through the demutualisation process currently being prepared. According to him, the demutualisation step being pushed by the Financial Services Authority (OJK) and the IDX is part of efforts to strengthen the governance of Indonesia’s capital market. “Oh yes, of course we are interested in the demutualisation being carried out by the OJK and the exchange, because this is indeed something that needs to be done by the OJK and is also one of the inputs on how to make our exchange better in terms of governance, transparency, and accountability,” Rosan said at the DPR RI Building on Wednesday (15/7/2026). Rosan views trust as the main factor in capital market trading. Therefore, strengthening the ownership structure and governance is considered important to enhance the exchange’s credibility. “So in this case, Danantara is very interested because we see that in other exchanges in other countries, their sovereign wealth funds also have a portion of ownership,” he said. However, Rosan revealed that the size of the shareholding to be taken by Danantara is still under review. “We are still studying it, studying what percentage, because the main point is that we want to jointly build our exchange to be better, more optimal,” he stated. The government has recently enacted a new regulation, the Financial Sector Development and Strengthening Law (UU P2SK), which addresses the institutions that can become shareholders in the Indonesia Stock Exchange. Citing Article 8B paragraph (1) of the P2SK Law, three state institutions can become IDX shareholders: the Ministry of Finance, Bank Indonesia, and the Daya Anagata Nusantara Investment Management Agency (Danantara).
