Rosan: Prabowo Wants PLN’s Transformation Accelerated
Jakarta (ANTARA) – Danantara Indonesia Chief Executive Officer Rosan Roeslani said a meeting with President Prabowo Subianto discussed accelerating the transformation of state-owned electricity company PT PLN (Persero) and speeding up the use of 100 gigawatts (GW) of solar panels.
Rosan said President Prabowo had asked for PLN’s transformation, particularly its business model, to be reviewed promptly and presented for follow-up.
“The main point is how to accelerate PLN’s transformation so it can become better, faster and more responsive, while also accelerating the use of 100 gigawatts of solar panels,” Rosan said after meeting President Prabowo at the Presidential Palace complex in Jakarta on Wednesday.
He said Danantara would coordinate with PLN’s team to draw up a comprehensive transformation plan in line with the President’s direction.
“We were asked to conduct an assessment and then submit a proposal to the President,” he said.
Rosan added that PLN’s readiness to deal with various emergency situations would also be evaluated, including improvements to contingency plans in the event of electricity supply disruptions.
“Those plans are certainly already in place, but they need to be improved,” Rosan said.
