Rosan Makes Sudden Visit to Solar Cell Factory in China, Attracting Investors Again?
Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - The Ministry of Investment and Downstreaming is exploring investment opportunities in the sustainable new energy sector through a visit to the solar cell manufacturing facility of Yingfa Group in China. The inspection was conducted to gain a deeper understanding of the production process and the latest technology trends to support Indonesia’s energy downstreaming agenda.
Minister of Investment and Downstreaming Rosan Perkasa Roeslani directly reviewed the industrial scale and technological innovations such as TOPCon, HJT, Perovskite, and BC at the factory. He held discussions on the potential for technology collaboration that can be adapted to strengthen the domestic new renewable energy (EBT) ecosystem.
“Thank you to the Chairman of Yingfa Group, Mr. Zhang Fayu, for receiving our working visit. This discussion opens up opportunities for collaboration and knowledge exchange, while supporting the development of sustainable new energy in Indonesia,” he stated in a post on his Instagram @rosanroeslani, quoted on Friday (10/4/2026).
The working visit aims to provide insights into the global development of solar cell manufacturing. The government is striving to attract interest from global investors to develop centres for research and green technology innovation domestically.
“This includes potential cooperation in manufacturing, research, and renewable energy technology innovation,” said Rosan.
This also represents the government’s efforts to broaden the scope of downstreaming, not only for mining commodities but also for the clean energy technology sector. Collaboration with partners like Yingfa Group is expected to accelerate the achievement of national energy transition targets through investment.
