The Minister of Investment and Downstreaming/Head of BKPM, Rosan Roeslani, believes that the quality of investment services is a key factor in strengthening Indonesia’s investment climate. He stated that certainty regarding timelines and clarity in licensing procedures are necessary to reduce risks and uncertainty for investors.

“Investment services are one of the keys to how we can improve the overall investment climate in Indonesia. Those present in this room have been very helpful to us in our efforts to enhance the investment and industrial climate,” said Rosan during his speech at the 2026 Investment Service Awards (ALI) in Jakarta on Wednesday, 16 September 2026.

According to Rosan, the ALI 2026 is not merely an agenda for presenting awards to investment service providers. The event also serves as a momentum to strengthen service governance so that it becomes more measurable, structured, and provides certainty.

Service certainty, ranging from timing to licensing procedures, is a critical aspect monitored by investors. Such conditions are required to minimise various risks of uncertainty when businesses undertake investment activities.

Rosan also noted that improving investment services is directly linked to the agenda of creating quality jobs for the public. This need is growing as Indonesia’s population increases by approximately two million people every year.

“Every three years, we produce a population equivalent to Singapore, about 6 million people. Job creation is our shared homework, and investment is one of the programmes that enables job creation to occur and function effectively,” said Rosan.

The ALI 2026 marks the culmination of the performance assessment series for Integrated One-Stop Services (PTSP) and the Acceleration of Business Implementation (PPB). This assessment series has been ongoing since April 2026, based on the Regulation of the Minister of Investment/Head of BKPM Number 2 of 2022.

The ALI 2026 assessment covers 571 objects at central and regional levels, consisting of 546 local governments and 25 ministries/state institutions. The evaluation was conducted to review the overall performance of investment services across various agencies.

The evaluation process covers six main aspects: institutional framework, human resources, infrastructure, and service processes. The assessment also includes coordination, as well as monitoring and evaluation of investment service implementation.

Rosan emphasised that the results of the ALI 2026 assessment are not only the basis for awarding prizes but also serve as an evaluation instrument to encourage continuous improvement in the quality of licensing services.

He noted that the central and regional governments need to strengthen synergy to resolve various obstacles that still affect business activities. These improvements are aimed at providing investment services that are easy, fast, transparent, and high-quality.

Improving service quality is expected to provide better certainty for the business world while strengthening the national investment climate. This step is also expected to support increased investment realisation and job creation across various regions.
