Danantara Indonesia CEO and Minister of Investment and Downstreaming Rosan Roeslani stated that the successful issuance of Danantara Indonesia’s first global bond proves foreign investors still hold high confidence in Indonesia. In a media briefing at the Presidential Office, Jakarta Presidential Palace Complex, on Monday, he said PT Danantara Investment Management (DIM) had issued its inaugural international bond worth US$1.5 billion. The bond issuance garnered strong trust from international financial markets, reflected in a peak orderbook value reaching approximately US$4.6 billion, or more than three times the total issuance value. “This also proves that investor confidence in Indonesia is high, and this is proven and real,” Rosan said. Rosan noted the success was not merely a commitment on paper, as the transaction signing took place on 11 June 2026 and the proceeds from the bond issuance are scheduled to enter Danantara’s account on 18 June 2026. He further emphasised that this achievement refutes the notion that global investors are reluctant to invest in Indonesia or would only be willing to purchase debt securities with a high risk premium. “This exceeded the expectations of many who predicted that if we wanted to raise bonds, no one would want to buy them — that was the first thing. Secondly, they thought the rate would certainly be high. It turns out neither of those two things happened, and this also shows that the credibility of both Danantara and the government is very well maintained,” he explained. He added that Danantara is open to the possibility of issuing bonds with longer tenors, up to 30 years in the future, given the high market interest. According to him, investor optimism is driven by confidence in Indonesia’s economic growth prospects, which are considered relatively stable amid global geopolitical and geo-economic challenges. “So this proves that Danantara, in this regard, has good credibility, and this is reflected in the bond having an oversubscription of more than three times,” he concluded.
