Investment Minister and Head of BKPM, Rosan Roeslani, is optimistic that the 2026 investment target can be achieved. According to Rosan, the Rp 497 trillion investment target for the first quarter of 2026 has already been met.

According to Rosan, this achievement represents around 7% annual growth. The job absorption from these investments is also projected to reach around 627,000 people, up 5.5%.

“But with this development, God willing, the government’s target for the first three months can be achieved by us, namely Rp 497 trillion, meaning around 7% annual growth, and job absorption is estimated to reach 627,000 people or up around 5.5%,” he said during a working meeting with Commission XII of the DPR RI in Jakarta on Monday (13/4/2026).

Rosan stated that the investments come from both Domestic Investment (PMDN) and Foreign Investment (PMA). The countries of origin for the investments are still dominated by Singapore, China, Japan, South Korea, and the United States (US) amid various ongoing global challenges.

“And indeed, if you look at the countries, they are still dominated by Singapore, then China, then Japan, South Korea, the United States, and others,” he added.

The government is targeting 8% economic growth for the 2025-2029 period. Based on the data presented, the 2024 investment target is set at Rp 1,650 trillion, rising to Rp 1,905.6 trillion in 2025, and Rp 2,041.3 trillion in 2026.

Overall, investment needs until 2029 are estimated to reach Rp 13,032.8 trillion. This value increases by around 43% compared to the total investment over the previous 10 years, namely Rp 9,117.4 trillion for the 2014-2024 period.

“So, the figure is Rp 2,041 (2026 investment target), but indeed at the end, the target is Rp 13,032.8 trillion,” Rosan concluded.
