Jakarta – President Prabowo Subianto is encouraging the strengthening of the national investment climate to accelerate sustainable domestic investment growth.

Investment Minister Rosan Roeslani stated that investor interest in Indonesia remains high and shows a very positive trend amid the dynamic global geopolitical situation. This is reflected in the ongoing investment realisations, which are proceeding well with significant increases in targets over the past decade.

“Regardless of the current situation, wars, global geopolitics, global geoeconomics, their interest in investing in Indonesia is very high, still very good, and this is proven by the investments coming in, which are still in line with our plans, even though they have experienced a very significant increase,” said Rosan to reporters at the Presidential Palace Complex, Jakarta, on Tuesday, 31 April 2026.

Furthermore, Rosan explained that President Prabowo emphasised that this condition must be maintained and domestic investment realisations must be accelerated immediately. Therefore, the Head of State has requested that the domestic investment climate be kept conducive and not hindered by inefficient regulations.

“Don’t let our regulations actually hinder, our rules that actually hinder, those decrees must also, as the President said, if they hinder, they are not necessary,” clarified Rosan.

Additionally, Rosan emphasised that in improving the quality of this investment climate, President Prabowo is also encouraging policy reforms by referring to international best practices.

This includes comparisons with ASEAN countries as well as standards from the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).

“So keep improving, the President mentioned earlier that the investment climate in Indonesia should be benchmarked against ASEAN countries, OECD regulations, and others,” he added.

This step is part of the government’s broader strategy to strengthen the foundation for long-term economic growth. With a more efficient, transparent, and competitive investment climate, Indonesia not only maintains investor confidence but also accelerates economic transformation towards higher value-added.
