Rosan Affirms DSI Will Not Become Sole Commodity Exporter

Investment and Downstreaming Minister/Head of BKPM Rosan Roeslani has emphasised that PT Danantara Sumberdaya Indonesia (DSI) was not designed from the outset to become a sole exporter controlling all commodities for its own export purposes. Rosan said DSI can still function as an exporter or intermediary in commodity trading. However, DSI’s presence will not alter the existing export contract mechanisms. “If you look at the BP itself, it is open for us to become an exporter, but that does not mean a sole exporter. We can be an intermediary, we can evaluate, we can be an intermediary, we can be an exporter,” Rosan said during a press conference on the RAPBN and Financial Note for the 2027 fiscal year at the DJP office on Friday (14/8). According to him, all ongoing transactions and contracts will continue to be respected. Exporters can also still conduct transactions directly with sellers or buyers. Rosan explained that one of DSI’s future functions relates to commodity price monitoring. The government will assess whether transaction prices are at levels consistent with the index. “Where this has been occurring below the index, we will certainly issue an alert and inform that the price is not appropriate,” he said. Rosan reiterated that from the beginning there was no concept placing DSI as the only company authorised to export Indonesian commodities. “So indeed from the start there was never a concept that DSI would become a sole exporter.
