Rooftop Solar PV on Fast Track to Boost 100 GW Target

Investment in rooftop solar power plants (PLTS) in Indonesia continues to flow in line with improvements to new and renewable energy regulations. The Indonesian Solar Energy Association (AESI) estimates the value of rooftop solar investment that has entered Indonesia has reached US$918 million, with installed capacity having reached 1.53 gigawatts (GW). AESI Chairperson Mada Ayu Habsari said the growth in rooftop solar installations over the past two years has been quite significant. This growth has been driven by regulatory improvements by the government, thereby opening up investment opportunities in the renewable energy sector.
