TANGERANG, KOMPAS.com - Three suspects in the theft of Lululemon bags from the cargo warehouse at Soekarno-Hatta Airport, namely R alias K, A, and F, each had different roles in carrying out the crime.

Chief of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Soekarno-Hatta Airport Police, Kompol Yandri Mono, explained that suspect R acted as the mastermind and also the executor of the theft.

“He works as part of the export operations team at a company at Soekarno-Hatta Airport,” said Yandri Mono in a written statement on Thursday (14/5/2026).

Suspect F, meanwhile, was responsible for ensuring that the goods could be diverted from the X-ray inspection process.

“Suspect F’s role was to ensure that the 40 cartons were separated from the inspection and loaded into a box truck,” he said.

In their confession to the police, the syndicate had carried out the operation three times in the past two years, with the victims suffering losses of more than Rp 1 billion.

“The perpetrators admitted to carrying out the theft three times in large quantities,” he said.

One of the incidents occurred in April 2026. The goods were shipped on April 10, 2026, and arrived at Soekarno-Hatta Airport on April 13, 2026. Upon arrival at Soekarno-Hatta Airport, the goods were scheduled to be flown to Shanghai on Garuda Indonesia flight GA 0894 on the Jakarta-Shanghai route on April 14, 2026.

“As a result of the incident, the victims suffered losses of Rp 213 million,” said Yandri.

The three suspects were then arrested in the Karawaci area, Tangerang City, on April 29, 2026, at around 00:30 WIB. In this case, the police seized a number of pieces of evidence, including export shipping documents, CCTV footage, flight manifest data, goods weighing documents, a Toyota Avanza belonging to suspect R, and an Isuzu box truck used to transport the stolen goods.
