Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Indonesian National Police (Polri) has disclosed preliminary findings regarding the roles of 320 foreign nationals involved in an international online gambling network at Hayam Wuruk Plaza Tower, Jakarta.

“There are various roles. Some are involved in telemarketing, customer service, administration, including those handling funds,” said the Director of General Criminal Crimes at the National Police Criminal Investigation Agency, Brigadier General of Police Wira Satya Triputra, in Jakarta on Sunday.

Nevertheless, Wira stated that Polri will continue to deepen and expand investigations into the roles of these 320 foreign nationals.

“We will continue to conduct in-depth investigations and developments on this case. So, it does not stop here,” he said.

Previously, on Saturday (9/5), Polri arrested 321 individuals related to online gambling crimes (judol) in an international network.

Then, on Sunday, Polri announced that 320 of those involved in online gambling are foreign nationals (WNA), and their detention has been handed over to the Directorate General of Immigration under the Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kemenkumham).

The 320 foreign nationals arrested consist of 228 Vietnamese, 57 Chinese, 13 Myanmar nationals, 11 Laotians, 5 Thais, 3 Malaysians, and 3 Cambodians. Meanwhile, the other one is an Indonesian national and is being further processed at the National Police Criminal Investigation Agency.
