Pekanbaru (ANTARA) - A pilgrim from Rokan Hilir Regency, Riau Province, belonging to flying group BTH 08, Lamitun Manrejo Adam binti Manrejo, passed away at the Batam Business Entity Hospital after receiving treatment upon returning to the country. Head of the Riau Province Regional Office of the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, Defizon, stated that the deceased had received medical treatment in Batam due to her deteriorating health condition. She subsequently passed away on Wednesday evening (10/6). “On behalf of myself and the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah of Riau Province, we express our deepest condolences on the passing of Ibu Lamitun Manrejo Adam. May the deceased be granted the best place in the sight of Allah SWT, be forgiven all her sins and mistakes, and may the bereaved family be granted patience, fortitude, and sincerity in facing this calamity,” said Defizon. Defizon explained that during her treatment in Batam, the deceased was accompanied by her daughter, who came from Pekanbaru to provide support. The body of the deceased was flown to Pekanbaru on Thursday (11/6) before being taken to her hometown in Rokan Hilir for burial. “This is a form of care and responsibility of the local government towards its citizens,” he said. He added that because the deceased passed away while still within the Batam Embarkation after returning from the Holy Land, the heirs are entitled to receive insurance compensation in accordance with applicable regulations.
