Rodjil to lead PKB in House

JAKARTA: Rodjil Gufron has been named the new chairman of
National Awakening Party (PKB) faction in the House of
Representatives, replacing Ali Masykur Musa.

PKB deputy chairman Mahfud MD said on Wednesday the change of
guard in the party's faction in the House was "a routine
rotation".

"There are no other reasons except that a rotation was due,"
Mahfud said on the sidelines of the inauguration of Cholil Bisri
as a deputy People's Consultative Assembly (MPR) speaker
representing PKB.

While stressing that Ali's position as the MPR ad hoc
committee I for constitutional amendments would be maintained,
Mahfud said Ali would focus more on party jobs as one of the
deputy chairmen.

The House internal rules stipulate an annual rotation of a
faction.

Mahfud said a member of the Love the Nation Democratic Party
(PDKB) would be given a deputy chairmanship post in the faction
following the party's decision to join forces with the PKB. -- JP
