Rocky Hybrid Secures 750 SPKs, Distribution Still Phased in Indonesia
Jakarta — PT Astra Daihatsu Motor (ADM) has said the market response to the Rocky Hybrid has continued to show a positive trend since its introduction in Indonesia on 24 July 2025. By April 2026, the hybrid model is claimed to have gathered around 750 vehicle order bookings (SPK). Marketing Director Sri Agung Handayani said the high level of consumer interest means distribution remains phased. At present, Rocky Hybrid supply ranges from 100 to 150 units per month. She noted that, since the first shipments were made in November 2025, total Rocky Hybrid distribution to new customers reached around 400 units. This has resulted in delivery queues in several regions.
ADM explained one reason for the distribution pattern is that the Rocky Hybrid is currently imported as a completely built up (CBU) vehicle. Therefore, distribution and administrative processes for the vehicle take longer than for locally produced models. “This is because it is CBU, so the STNK process can be longer,” she said. Sri Agung noted that the Rocky Hybrid market is still concentrated in major cities such as Jakarta, Bandung, and Surabaya. The majority of customers also come from the second-car buyer segment. Nevertheless, Daihatsu claims to have still found some first-car buyers who are starting to be attracted to hybrid technology, particularly in the Jabodetabek area. Regarding the possibility of local CKD production, ADM says it is still conducting studies. The company has not yet confirmed when the Rocky Hybrid will be assembled in Indonesia. “CKD is still being studied,” Sri Agung said. The study is considered important because Daihatsu has historically focused on first-time car buyers with affordable vehicles. They are also weighing various aspects, from price and market demand to long-term production strategy.
