Rocky Gerung: Being Within the Palace Circles Now, I Will Become a Target

Member of the Presidential Advisory Council (Wantimpres), Rocky Gerung, joked that the first task of the newly appointed Head of Bakom, Syahganda Nainggolan, should be to restore his good name following negative public responses to his appointment to Wantimpres.

He made these remarks during the handover ceremony for the Head of Bakom RI in Jakarta on Tuesday (6/10).

“Syahganda’s first task is to restore my reputation in the public eye,” said Rocky.

Rocky noted that his decision to join the council has met with negative reactions from the public. While joking, he also mentioned that there is no party currently defending him against attacks from netizens on social media.

Rocky stated that his current position within the palace circles automatically makes him a target for criticism.

“I am within the palace circles now; I will become a target,” he said.

He also denied that his decision was solely for personal profit. Rocky asserted that his objective in joining the government is purely to convey his thoughts directly to Prabowo.

“The claim that Rocky Gerung’s reputation is being traded to Prabowo is false. I have never traded my reputation for facilities from the very beginning,” he stated.

Rocky was inaugurated as a member of Wantimpres last Friday (2/10). He is one of 26 members of the Wantimpres for the Prabowo era.

In addition to Rocky, the Council also includes Pratikno, Hatta Rajasa, Jusuf Hamka, Jusuf Wanandi, and Margarito Kamis.
