Rocky Gerung Assigns Special Task to Syahganda: Restore My Reputation!

Rocky Gerung, a member of the Presidential Advisory Council (Wantimpres), attended the inauguration of Syahganda Nainggolan as the Head of the Indonesian Communications Agency (Bakom RI). During the event, Rocky Gerung issued his first special assignment to Syahganda.

Joking aside, Rocky requested that Syahganda restore his good name, as he feels mocked by the public and society after joining President Prabowo Subianto’s administration.

“Syahganda’s first task is to restore my reputation in the public eye. For three days now, I have been insulted, mocked, and belittled. And not a single person has defended me; it is outrageous,” Rocky said on Tuesday (6/10/2026).

Furthermore, Rocky Gerung admitted that his current position within the government makes him a vulnerable target for public scrutiny.

“I am now within the palace circles, so I will be a target. There is no way to prevent my friends from attempting to find arguments that I have betrayed our struggle,” he stated.

Rocky denied that by becoming a member of Wantimpres, he had traded his reputation for Prabowo’s favour.

“The idea that Rocky Gerung’s reputation is being traded to Prabowo is false; I have never bartered my reputation for facilities from the start,” he remarked.

He emphasised that he has merely moved from the outside to the inside of the administration.

“I have only moved from the outside to the inside. Naturally, people are angry. Those who are angry are actually those who do not want us to part ways,” he added.

It is noted that Rocky Gerung explained his reasons for accepting the offer to join the Presidential Advisory Council during President Prabowo Subianto’s era.

Rocky emphasised that the duty of Wantimpres is not to criticise government policies. According to him, the primary function of the council is to provide critical considerations to the President.
