RoboParty Launches RP1 in Southeast Asia, Offering Open-Platform Robotics Solutions and a Full Stack for Education
Through RP1 and RPO, RoboParty is offering open-source humanoid robotics platforms to support hands-on learning, foundational robotics development and advanced embodied AI research.
Shanghai (ANTARA/PRNewswire) – RoboParty launched RP1 (ROBOTO 01), a high-performance humanoid robot platform with a full-stack architecture and an open-source platform, for the Southeast Asian market on 15 October 2026. Together with RPO, an open-platform humanoid robotics kit, RoboParty offers universities, researchers and developers a choice of platforms for exploring robotics, from practical learning to advanced research.
Different research objectives require different platforms. An open platform allows developers to adapt a robot to their needs, rather than the other way round.
RP1 supports advanced robotics and embodied AI research. Its open architecture and full stack cover mechanical design, the in-house-developed ROMOMO actuator module, low-level control systems, simulation, a software development kit (SDK) and training tools. Researchers can study, modify and test the robot directly. They can also trace issues from model policies and control systems through to physical movement, in order to optimise the system’s overall performance.
The open platform gives developers full control to adapt the robot to their requirements.
RP1 also comes with developed motion capabilities, including continuous walking, recovering from disturbances and standing up after a fall. These capabilities can reduce repetitive work on basic movement skills, allowing teams to devote more time to model training, locomotion research and testing complex tasks.
To support humanoid robot development, RoboParty offers PartyOS as an open development foundation. The platform links motion retargeting and policy training with simulation-based validation and deployment on physical robots.
From Robotics Education to Advanced Research, RPO and RP1 Expand Open-Platform Options
RP1 builds on RoboParty’s open-platform initiative, which began with RPO, the company’s first humanoid robot with an open platform.
RPO is a cost-effective, do-it-yourself humanoid robot designed for practical embodied AI learning and customisation. RoboParty provides publicly accessible mechanical, electrical, training and deployment materials. These allow developers to assemble their own robots, understand the systems in depth and develop their capabilities. The RPO project has received more than 2,600 stars on GitHub and has been replicated by more than 100 users.
RPO and RP1 meet complementary needs. RPO provides a practical foundation for robotics education and early-stage development, while RP1 is aimed at more complex research into humanoid locomotion, control systems and embodied AI.
For universities and research institutions in Southeast Asia, the two platforms offer the flexibility to select, customise and develop an open platform to suit their respective research goals.
From classrooms to cutting-edge research, RoboParty says it aims to make humanoid robotics more open, accessible and adaptable for the developers shaping its future.
