Robik Mukav named as Army spokesman
JAKARTA (JP): Brig. Gen. Robik Mukav has been appointed as the
new Army spokesman, replacing Brig. Gen. Hardi Karso.
In a ceremony marking the transfer of duty on Thursday, Mukav
vowed that all Army information center staff under his leadership
would be able to "communicate" Army policies to the public.
Mukav, who was previously chief of the Lilawangsa military
district in Aceh, was born in 1946 on Madura Island. He is
married with three children.
A graduate of the National Military Academy in 1970, he
developed his career through postings at a number of military
commands. He also served two years as chief of staff at the
Baskara Jaya military resort in East Java.
In the 1980s, he served two years as assistant to the chief of
staff of the Bukit Barisan Military Command, which oversees North
Sumatra, Aceh, West Sumatra, Riau and West Kalimantan.
He attended the Army's staff and command school in 1985 and
the joint staff and command school in 1987.
Brig. Gen. Hardi Karso is awaiting a new assignment from the
Army leadership. (rms)
