Robert Marbun Appointed as Secretary General of the Ministry of Finance: His Profile
Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - Robert Leonard Marbun has been officially inaugurated by Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa as the new Secretary General of the Ministry of Finance.
He replaces Heru Pambudi, who has served as Secretary General of the Ministry of Finance since 12 March 2021.
“Today, Friday, 27 March 2026, I, the Finance Minister, hereby officially inaugurate you in your new position within the Ministry of Finance,” said Purbaya during the inauguration of Robert.
“I believe that you will carry out your duties to the best of your ability, in accordance with the responsibilities given,” Purbaya stated.
Robert Marbun is not new to the Ministry of Finance. The man born in Medan on 23 June 2026 has held several positions in the Ministry of Finance, before eventually moving to the Ministry of Investment/BKPM.
The man who earned a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations from Universitas Padjadjaran, a Master of Policy Analysis (MPA) from Saitama University, Japan in 2000, and completed a Doctor of Philosophy in Economics from Kobe University in 2004, once began his career at the Directorate General of Customs and Excise (DJBC).
Based on data from the State Organiser’s Wealth Report (LHKPN) at the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), he first reported his assets as a state official in 2007 with a value of Rp 1.48 billion. Then, in 2008, it amounted to Rp 2.3 billion.
Subsequently, in 2011, his position was recorded as a Staff Analyst in the Field of Supervision and Law Enforcement of Customs and Excise at DJBC with asset ownership of Rp 3.14 billion.
A year later, he served as Head of the DJBC Regional Office for Sulawesi with asset ownership of Rp 3.67 billion, continuing until 2014 when his assets reached Rp 5.05 billion.
In 2015, he held the position of Director of International Customs at DJBC with the LHKPN report submitted periodically on 30 April 2015 amounting to Rp 5.55 billion.
A year later, while holding the position of Director of International and Inter-Agency Customs, his assets became Rp 10.97 billion. Before finally decreasing to Rp 5.86 billion in 2017 while still in the same position.
In 2018, he was appointed as Staff Expert in the Field of State Revenue with asset ownership of Rp 5.97 billion. While in that position, his assets once decreased to Rp 3.10 billion in 2019, before gradually increasing again to Rp 6.12 billion by 2020.
On 30 September 2020, he served as staff expert in institutional relations at the Ministry of Investment and Downstreaming or the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) in 2020 with assets still recorded at Rp 6.12 billion.
Finally, during the reporting period of 31 December 2024, while still serving as staff expert in institutional relations at the Ministry of Investment and Downstreaming/BKPM, his assets amounted to Rp 11.54 billion.
