Robbers Who Tortured Elderly Man in Bogor Used Crime Proceeds to Purchase Villa
Police have apprehended a ruthless robbery gang that assaulted an elderly man until he lost his hearing in Cileungsi, Bogor, West Java, and have determined the group has operated at 50 different locations. The perpetrators used their criminal proceeds to purchase land and villas.
“The proceeds from their crimes have been used to purchase a villa, garden, and other items,” said Bogor Police Chief AKBP Wikha Ardilestanto at a press conference on Monday, 16 March 2026.
Wikha stated that six perpetrators robbed and assaulted elderly couple Samah (66) and Hamim (69) in September 2025. In the attack, the perpetrators fled with the elderly couple’s possessions, including a car, motorcycle, and 54 million rupiah in cash.
“From the two victims, the perpetrators took several items. First, a Toyota Avanza with ownership documents, then a motorcycle with ownership documents, and also ownership documents for a pickup truck although the vehicle itself was not taken. They also took 54 million rupiah in cash,” Wikha said.
So far, three of the six perpetrators who assaulted the elderly couple in Bogor have been apprehended. The robbery gang has operated at 50 locations or crime scenes.
Three perpetrators identified by initials M, E, and K have been secured. Perpetrator K is currently detained at Batang Police Station, Central Java Police, for a separate case.
“During interrogation, it was revealed that the gang had committed crimes at 50 crime scenes across Central Java and West Java,” Wikha said.
Wikha identified the mastermind of the gang as M. Perpetrator M was arrested in Cipendeuy, West Bandung Regency. The arrest was led directly by Cileungsi Police Chief Kompol Edison.
“The action by the Cileungsi Police Chief successfully apprehended the main mastermind identified as M, aged 29 years old. This perpetrator was arrested by the Cileungsi Police Chief in Cipendeuy, West Bandung Regency,” Wikha said.
