Unbeknownst to Furqon and his colleague, Yusuf, 35, they had

of his hand.

As Furqon refused to let go of the bag, the robber shot him
twice. One of the shots hit the motorcycle but another hit Furqon
in the groin.

before making good their escape with the money.

Housemaid electrocuted

DEPOK: A housemaid died after being electrocuted as she was
cleaning a fish pond at her employer's home in Cinere
subdistrict, Limo district, Depok, on Sunday at around 4 p.m.

The maid, identified as Surani, 31, was instructed by her
employer Lisa to clean the fish pond as it had become turbid due
to the heavy rain that fell some days before.

According to the police, while draining the pond Surani was
electrocuted by a bare electricity wire whose casing had been
melted off by the sun and which fell into the pond.

Lisa, who was inside the house, ran out upon hearing Surani's
screams. But by the time she got to the pond, Surani was already
dead.

After reporting the case to the Limo police, Lisa brought
Surani's body to the Cipto Mangunkusumo General Hospital for
examination. Surani's remains have since been brought to her
hometown in Kudus, Central Java, for a family burial.

Police said that Surani died of accidental causes. -- JP
