Robbers attack fish pond owners

BOGOR: Two brothers were seriously injured after catching three men attempting to steal fish from their commercial pond in Curugbitung village, Nanggung district, Bogor regency early Thursday morning.

Ahmad, 50, and his brother Otib, were checking the pond, about one kilometer from Ahmad's house. As they discussed their plan to harvest the fish, they saw a suspicious man.

Despite the brothers yelling "thief", the man, who was accompanied by two other people, attacked them.

Ahmad suffered stab wounds to his head, back and fingers of both hands, while Otib was stabbed in the back and on his left hand.

The three attackers ran away empty handed.

The brothers were later taken to the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) hospital by other villagers.--JP
