Roadworks at Piyungan T-junction: Traffic Diversions in Place

Patuk Police have prepared situational traffic engineering measures ahead of roadworks on the Yogyakarta-Wonosari road, specifically at the Piyungan T-junction in Bantul. The traffic management will only be implemented situationally, depending on vehicle density.

Patuk Police Public Relations Officer, Aiptu Purwanto, stated that the Piyungan T-junction will undergo repairs from Monday (8/6) until Friday (31/7). The works involve the installation of rigid concrete, which will cause the lanes around the Piyungan T-junction to narrow.

He said the repairs at the Piyungan T-junction would automatically impact traffic flow in Patuk, as the Yogyakarta-Wonosari road is a main artery. Consequently, Patuk Police have prepared traffic diversions to prevent vehicle tailbacks. If crowding extends into the Patuk area, traffic engineering will likely be enforced.

Purwanto explained that the diversions would be applied from the Patuk unit PJR post intersection heading north. Motorists can then turn left at Kopilimo Cafe & Homestay, entering via Petir. Alternatively, they may go south from the PJR post via Cinomati. He also urged drivers not to worry about finding alternative routes, as Patuk Police personnel will be stationed at several points to provide directions.
