Roads in Depok
Roads in Depok
From Media Indonesia
Recently, I passed the Bogor administration's office in
Cibinong. I noticed that a number of workers were busy building
an entry gate for the office complex. Judging from the material
they were using, I am sure the construction costs a great deal.
It is indeed magnificent, and I would tip my hat to the Bogor
government.
However, it seems to me that the Bogor administration is
building such a luxurious monument, while on the other hand, it
is quite neglectful of the roads that are seriously damaged. The
people badly need good roads, and certainly not the spectacular
gate. For example, the road that stretches from Depok Lama to
Cilebut is seriously damaged, which presents great problems to
passing vehicles. If any repair work is done at all, the repaired
areas never last more than a few weeks. The condition of the road
will become even worse during the rainy season.
In fact, public transportation vehicles pay a certain fee for
using that particular road. Can't the Bogor administration use
the funds for road repair? Otherwise, what is the money being
collected for?
