Road widening requested around the Latumeten flyover project
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Governor of Jakarta, Pramono Anung Wibowo, has requested the Public Works Department to widen road access around the Latumeten flyover project in Grogol, West Jakarta, to address traffic congestion in the area.
“I have now asked the Public Works Department to widen the access so that the closed road can be reopened,” Pramono said when met in South Jakarta, Thursday.
By reopening the previously closed lane and making it wider, Pramono believes that traffic around the flyover project can flow more smoothly.
According to Pramono, the construction of the flyover is still important to address the frequent congestion that occurs in the location.
“The Latumeten flyover is indeed intended to reduce congestion there. Hopefully, in the near future, the construction of this Latumeten will not cause even more severe congestion,” said Pramono.
This was also highlighted by a member of the Jakarta DPRD from the PDI Perjuangan faction, Hardiyanto Kenneth, who immediately went to the location after receiving reports from residents.
“Many residents have complained to me. This construction process is causing extraordinary traffic jams,” said Kenneth.
During the inspection, he found that Jalan Latumeten, which previously had three lanes, now only has one active lane. This condition causes queues of vehicles, especially in the mornings and evenings.
According to Kenneth, this is happening because of the flyover project.
